Those Who Can’t, Teach is a classic of The Necessary Stage, first staged in 1990 as part of the Opening of The Substation. 20 years later, the original creative team of director Alvin Tan and playwright Haresh Sharma, will revisit, revive and revamp the play into a contemporary classic.

Set in the backdrop of a secondary school, the play looks at the madcap lives of teachers and students, with often hilarious results.

As the teachers struggle daily to ‘nurture and groom’, the students prefer to hang out and chillax. In the meantime, they all have to deal with the dreaded ‘parents’.

With upskirting and facebooking, teaching and politicking, school has never been the same. Join the colourful cast of characters as they struggle to prove that Those Who CAN, Teach.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Neo Swee Lin, Rodney Oliveiro, Siti Khalijah Zainal, Ian Tan and Najib Soiman. With original music by Philip Tan, set design by Vincent Lim and lighting design by Suven Chan.

Those Who Can't. Teach is presented under the Singapore Arts Festival's re/visit/create/imagine/mix platform which showcases seminal works from Singaporean artists and arts companies, to build a consciousness of Singapore's performance heritage and history.
